Smurfs

The Belgian comic franchise, known as Les Schtroumpfs or De Smurfen, revolves around a colony of small, blue, human-like creatures that inhabit mushroom-shaped houses in the forest. The series was first created by Peyo (Pierre Culliford) in 1958 and has since grown to include over 100 distinct Smurf characters. Each character's name is derived from adjectives that highlight their unique characteristics, such as "Jokey Smurf," who delights in playing pranks on his fellow smurfs. The franchise also features "Smurfette," the first female Smurf introduced in the series. A defining aspect of the Smurfs' appearance is their Phrygian caps, which have come to symbolize freedom in modern times.
